Ray Alvarez Class

Think It. Shoot It. Create It.

Learn how to see light faster, shape it with intention, and create stronger portraits in real time.

Ray Alvarez

This is not just a lighting class. This is about how Ray sees portraits and lighting.

In this session, he walks you through how he approaches a scene before he ever presses the shutter — how he breaks down light, how he builds it when it is not there, and how he is already thinking about the final edit while he is shooting.

You will work through real scenarios, indoors or outdoors depending on the environment, and see how he adapts in real time. Simple setups, intentional decisions, and creative direction that translates into strong final images.

You will also touch on using gels, shaping light, and creating something that feels different from what everyone else is doing — without overcomplicating it or getting buried in techy fluff.

Most importantly, you are not just watching. You are shooting.

You’ll walk away with:
A better understanding of how to see light instead of just react to it
Ray’s go-to fundamentals for building a shot from scratch
Confidence in making creative decisions on the fly
Real images you can actually use in your portfolio
